DVD problem

hello
my DVD is not reading DVD.even those,which are freshly written by it.but read it on windows vista OS.actually now using Microsoft XP so at this OS DVD is not reading DVD but it is comfortable with CD reading..and if i use vista everything is fine with DVD.it read everything and write everthing also.
please help me out..
