DVD region

Ive just got a new laptop, (Qosmio F55) from the states, however in the manuel is says I can change dvd regions 4 times I think. At the moment its set to region 1, but my entire dvd collection is region 2 so i want it to be region 2. I says it will change automatically when the disc is inserted but it doesnt, it just comes up with an error message saying set to the wrong region.

How do I change it manually?
