Dysfunctional USB Ports In Dell Vostro Laptop

by solomon2alon . Updated 11 years, 1 month ago

Hi,

This is Alon Solomon and I have recently encountered a problem with my Dell Vostro laptop. I purchased an internet dongle that can be used as a Wi-Fi to connect as many as 5 devices at a time. However, on trying to install the software in my laptop, the installation fails to run to application. Even if the device is installed, the window that helps users to connect to the internet fails to launch itself.

I have tried getting the assistance of the internet service provider but they finally diagnosed the problem to be related to the laptop’s USB port. It is quite possible because the internet is connected when put on the Wi-Fi mode. I have even tried updating my windows in case the older version does not support the application.

I have been recommended to visit a Dell service centre but I feel it to be incongruous because the problem seems solvable without having to incur a huge repairing expenditure. Is anybody facing the same or similar problem related to their laptop’s USB port? If yes, then kindly suggest useful ways to solve it.
Regards
Alon Solomon
