A friend of mine got his P.eng (professional engineer)designation recently even though he does not work in the engineering field.
He and I both worked as Electrical engineers some years ago but I never got around to doing the whole licensing thing. His reasons he told me were career related, in that he would be considered for management positions because of his P.eng.
I have the necessary experience I just never got around to filling out the paperwork (a ton) …. and I’m skeptical what good it would do me in the IT field.
the title does command some respect … but is it relevant to an IT career ?
