Error In Internet Explorer

I am using WIN XP, and get either very slow response or an error message when going to web sites using IE version 6. Does anyone know of a problem with IE 6, that causes the MS report error to show up when going to different sites. When i use another computer with WIN2K & IE 6 and go to the same computer I get there without any error so it is not the site.
