reciently my computer stopped playing mpeg, mpg and avi files in Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, Jet Audio, Winamp and Jet Audio. Each Time i try to open one, it gets an error before it even starts playing the file but it shows the first frame usually. I keep looking for the error code but nothing shows up except for a long thing that mentions nothing about the error (posted at the bottom of the post for EACH program it gets an error in) i have tried uninstalling my media players and reinstalling them to no avail. i dont think its a codec problem because usually with codec problems it will play audio and no video (that i know of) i have even uninstalled every software program that i have installed since about a week before it started and ran multiple virus scans and adware scans with nothing comming up except a file in my win32 folder (found by using avast antivirus, but not picked up on McAfee) and deleted it. I dont think that it screwed up my computer deleting the file cuz windows runs fine. any help will be greatly appreciated.
