error: Windows-delayed write failed

Encountered the following pop-up on a Windows server 2000 running on IBM server hardware:

Windows-delayed write failed
Windows was enable to save all the data for the file \device\harddiskvolume3\$mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardwaer or network connection. Please try to save these files elsewhere.

Appreciate advise to the above.
