Ethernet switch

I have two internet connections available at home on a hi speed cable. I want to use one with my laptop and one with my home desktop. The problem is currently I keep pulling out the cable and shifting it between my laptop and my home PC. The setting for both ISP’s are different so its not like I cna place a wireless router. WIll a ethernet switch help.
