Due to a transformaer change next summer our IT department will be without power for approx. 2 weeks.
This is to long for us to be down so we are considering a generator to be connected and supply power through this.
The generated power will be running not only server access within the department but our WAN ethernet connections as well.
My concern is with timing of the ethernet. Our remote sites will be on local utility power while we are on the generator. Will our ethernet connectivity be affected by this? Are we going to run into a timing issue because of this? Any information would be appreciated.
