Event Viewer In Win 2k Server

When running the event viewer, The system log is the first to view. I go to open the Application log it tell’s me the there is 241 log’s in the events, but it does not display them all it display’s is a blank page. All pages are blank after i move from System Log to Applications Log.
I need to close the event viewer and reopen it, then it shows me the system log files.
How can I reinstall event viewer? Help!
