Excahnge 2003 Backup/Restore .. Replay Logfiles

by demo_dog . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

Here’s a reasonable enuff scenario; I’ve used NTBACKUP to backup an EX2K3 database. The next day I have an issue with the server which calls for a restore. The backup was done with the normal option, which copies and then deletes the logfiles. When I do the restore, I select the switch which replays the logfiles and mounts the store. It seems like a no-brainer, but …. are the logfiles in question the ones backed up or would they be the ones created in the time the backup was taken and whatever happened that necessitated the restore? In other words … following the restore, do I have an up to date database?
thanks in advance
