Excel Spreadsheet

I need a scanned doc for a website that has a excel spreadsheet. My client has a excel spreadsheet out on a web server. The excel spreadsheet is linked somehow to a file server from the web server. They have invoice # on the excel spreadsheet and want to be able to scan the invoice and have it linked to the invoice on the website so clients can see the scanned document. I tried to hyperlink the file and the invoice does open but it does not show up on the website. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
