Background:
Exchange 5.5 w/sp3 installed on win2k server w/sp1 Also installed Groupshield 4.5
Client side running Outlook 2k on 98/NT/ & 2k machines.
Problem: Client logs off of outlook, synchronization says it took place but no synching has occured. Open up outlook, choose “Work Offline” and old e-mail appears from a month and a half ago. This is true with all machines (including mine)
Has it ever worked: Yes
What changed: To my knowledge, nothing. I am the mail admin and the only person who touches that server.
What have I tried:
1. Deleted ost client side and made new one
2. Forced synch thru outlook
3. MSDN artilce OL2000: (CW) Troubleshooting Synchronization Problems – deleted 4 .dll’s and reinstalled office.
Theories:
Since it is an enterprise wide problem I am assuming that something has changed on the server side. I have not been able to identify what.
Since I can determine that the last time it synch’d was a month ago, I looked in my srvr logs and the only thing I could find was from oct 12 when I removed and re-installed groupshield. While this was my first guess, and probably yours, synchronization has taken place after that. Not a clear link.
Last good synch was on nov 13th. A month after the reinstall of grpshld.
Suggestions, leads, comments- anything at this point would be great. Maybe I missed something from looking to hard.
Offering up a 1000 points for this one.
