I have a front-end / back-end Exchange 2003 topology. I added a second 2-way trans trust domain to the forest. The first domain is on a 10.0.0.x network, the second domain is a 192.168.20.x and tunnels to the 10.0.0.x network. From the second domain, I can ping IP addresses, common names, FQDN, etc so the conductivity is there.
I have added the second SMTP address for the new domain to the exchange server so now, as I add new users to Active Directory, john.doe@domain1.com and john.doe@domain2.com are listed in the E-mail tab.
When I log a user into domain2, launch Microsoft Outlook and attempt to resolve the domain2 user to the exchange server which resides in domain1, I get the error “Outlook name could not be resolved. The name could not be matched to a name in the address book” (It will resolve the name if I enter an account from Domain1)
I’m guessing this is a permission setting for the first administrative group in Exchange but I don’t want to start throwing a bunch of permissions for the second domain in here.
