I added a second Domain (B) to my forest. Domain A contains the Exchange 2003 server. There is a 2-way transitive trust between the two domains and Domain B can ping the IP and FQDN of the Exchange server in Domain A
Exchange was setup to host 2 SMTP addresses per user, one for user@domain_A and one for user@domain_B. Adding a new user in active directory displays both E-mail addresses. When a user is added to domain B, he shows up in the global catalog (but has no e-mail addresses displaying yet sinch the user has not made the initial connection to exchange)
Problem is, when I log the user into Domain B and launch Outlook for 1st time Exchange setup, I get the message “outlook name could not be resolved, the name could not be matched to a name in the address book.
If I type in the name of a domain A user’s E-mail box, it finds the name and underscores it during setup so it does see the Exchange server. If I type in the name of a domain B user, It errors.
I haven’t set, nor do I know exactly where to set permissions for domain B users to allow them to access exchange on domain A. I also attempted to use a universal active directory group but didn’t set this up correctly if, in-fact I need to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
