Exchange 2003 Inbound E-mail

by yuh . Updated 18 years, 10 months ago

Hello!

I have an issue regarding incoming e-mail to a new Exchange 2003 server (S2) that I just added to an existing E2K3 Organization (same domain) with one E2K3 server (S1).

From the mailbox (A), I can transmit/send outbound to (S1) and an Internet mailbox (Gmail, etc.)(B).

However, when those mailboxes try to send back to (A), those messages get queued up (retry state). I get a delivery notification that messages are delayed, and then it fails with an NDR.

Here’s the breakdown of the architecture:

Both servers running W2K3, E2K3, fully patched with the latest service packs and hotfixes.

1 domain, both servers in the same subnet.

I can see both Exchange servers/stores/mailboxes from ESM.

If there’s anything that I missed to complete the puzzle, please let me know.

Many thanks in advance!

Heinz
