Exchange access for Remote location

I have a remote location that only has a dial up connection and I need then to access my Exchange server. What would the best option be? I have the Cisco VPN client setup but I am wondering if maybe Pop mail? I would like them to automaticly connect if possible. And they want to use Outlook 2000.
