exchange mail.domain.com error

by rdbjbush . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

I get a ‘Relay Access Denied’ error in an email that bounces back immediately when sending to a newly configured Exchange 2003 server. Have done test messages from other emails and web based accounts and problem is constant.

If mail is sent like: name@domain.com it fails with SMTP error ‘Relay Access Denied’ if the mail is sent to name@mail.domain.com the mail is received. Go daddy cert issued for mail.affordputerservices.com

THe only difference in the email address is the @mail. which works every time. If we don’t type the mail. before the domain.com the message fails right away.

Exchange server can send mail without problem and only receives the mail when name@mail.domain.com is used.
