Exchange server

Dear friends,

My name is sreenivasulu.p working as a networkadministrator, we have proble with configuring the exchange 2000&2003 server for internal and external mails.But internal mails are working but problem is we are unable to configuring for external mails.
Plz,help us out from this with your solution
