Exchange server 2008 r2 incoming mail

I use Exchange server 2008 to receive and send internal and external mail. Of late, I am able to send mail but it takes almost one day to receive incoming mail. What could cause this problem?
My Internet connected to a local ISP through an antenna. My mail is managed by an external ISP (Internationally)
