Executing batch files with params in VB6

I have a VB6 program that runs two batch files; one with no params and another with a single param, however, the batch files don’t seem to work. The DOS Command window comes up and if I hit the pause/break button to stop it, the commands seem to be executed/displayed, but the batch file doesn’t actually run. Can anyone help me with this?
