I was adding a 2nd hard drive to my PC, that already contained 2 SCSI hard drives and an IDE hard drive. The SCSI controller was an Adaptec 3940W with 2 Seagate ST19171W hard drives. The motherboard in the PC was an Intel SE440BX-2 with 256MB of RAM& a Western
Digital AC26400R-SW hard drive that was attached to the onboard primary controller. Upon trying to secure a second IDE drive, the
PC started to display “Expansion Rom not Initialized….PCI Mass Storage Controller in
Slot 03 Bus 02 Device 04 Function 00. I determined that this has something to do with
the SCSI controller by changing the slot that
it was in….the error message continued but changed slots with the SCSI controller. Has anyone fought this fire?????
