External Print Server

I have a HP JetDirect 170X. Should this device be visible in ‘My Network Places’ in Windows explorer?

Also if I want to add a printer: I can’t add a network printer, it seems that it has to be a local printer and I need to us and IP port.

Is this normal or is there a way to make the 170X appear along with the list of computers on the network?
