External User DNS Resolution

My dns is working perfectly inside. All IIS host headers and machine names are resolving to their proper internal or external address. However, external users cannot use any services by name, but CAN via IP address. Port 53 on the router is open for DNS queries.
Win 2003 Server environment, Netgear wgr614 v5 router. Single DNS environment (small company).

Any suggestions to a fix for this situation. Nothing by name works www., home., family., externally that is… all of these work internally just fine, and from a command line, pinging results in an external address.
