Extremely Slow Print through Excel when HP MFP is default Printer

by miller.rodney . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

We stumbled upon an issue where several of our Business Units have expienced an extreme slow down when printing through Excel and having an HP MFP as a default printer. Users claim it is looks like a complete lock up of computer for about a 1 or more sometimes when they try to print. This just started happening recently. Drivers have not change (Using most recent descrete driver).

This is happening on HP4345 and HP9050 with PCL decreate driver. Several Excel patches have been applied but we have backed those patches off and it doesn’t resolve the problem.

Only other note is that Business Unit effected has several 3rd party applications that have excel plug-ins.

On a few users we removed all printers, drivers and system print files and fix the problem. Looking for root cause…

Any thoughts?
