F-Prot problems running on Novell 6

by mfetting . Updated 22 years, 11 months ago

I am a beginner of sorts in that I have been thrusted in as “acting” Network Administrator on a Novell Server running 6.0. I know enough to be walked through and currently do not have my CNA/CNE (but hope to soon). My problem is that for quite some time now our server has experienced a rash of page appends. To be precise “date/time FATAL EXCEPTION Number 14 Abend:Page FaultRunning Process: FPROT Worker 1540 Code in executing in module Filesys.nlm v5.10 at offset_t2f666h”. The last two days,I’vetried (unsuccessfully) to update our antivirus (Command) software. When I go to unload the module running the antivirus I receive the following on the server console: “Cannot allocate a buffer for a Real-Time Scan of ******” and then “Cannot Kill ‘F-PROT Sched 0’!” Followed with “A CLib Context was not unregistered” I am then unable to reload the module (it says it is still loaded), yet it doesn’t appear to running. Any help/ideas would be appreciated
