Failover Servers Needed for MOSS 2007?

I’m new to MOSS 2007, and have been asked if we could dump our 3 failover servers (one App server, one Domain Server, and one SQL server) in CA (we’re on the east coast). I’m not crazy about this, but accounting needs to make budget cuts. Is there another way to ensure redundancy? Thanks so much –
