Favorites suddenly not working

I have a number of users whose “favorites” have become unassociated. I can’t figure out what has happened nor am I able to fix. This has happened with machines running both IE6 and IE7 and seems to have happened when we upgraded our Exchange Server to Server 2003 (this may be a red herring!)
