I am new to a big 4 and I finished my first project. This is an extremely difficult project. According to the senior manager and the client, this project is success. However, my manager doesn’t like me. Also, I am an ESL and I did make some grammar mistakes in my draft report. Since it is my first project, the writing style was not 100% match to firm’s style. But I made all changes she suggested and appreciated her effort. She gave me a formal review saying ” the writing did not meet sufficient standard ” and the grammar example to support the statement. Thus I got a very low rating as “partial met the qualification”. I am really upset about the result since I worked so hard to this project.
I was first assigned to another manager so I was polite to her but not enthusiatic. For internal arrangement, I was transfered to her. I did try my best to do the good job but I am not close to her. Being a young and new manager, she might be offended and feel challenged by the fact I am playing cool. The rating for me seems like a revenge. 🙂 . By the way, I am a female.
What should I do now? Should I let it go or fight for that? If I decide to fight, how to do that?
