I?m setting up one LAN between two buildings 650 feet apart. Building number # 1 has 20 XP pro boxes, building # 2 has 24 XP pros. Two servers, both in building 2: server #1, Unix based, will be used exclusively for accounting, server 2, is Windows 2000 and its? primary use is to provide Internet connectivity, with some file and print sharing. A T-1 line provides Internet connection. The internal cabling in both building is 10/100 Base T while fiber connects to two buildings. I?m asking for suggestions for switches to convert the Ethernet to fiber than back to Ethernet. Also, any special cabling and/or other suggestions for accessories to make the setup go easier.
