File sharing Servers on a DC

Hi, i need to know if i connect one of my 2003 file servers(previously in a workgroup)to a DC, those previous file sharing permissions to all the users will have to set again? Meaning the DC will control all file sharing using the users account in the AD? or i have to log in to the individuals file servers to set the permissions?
