Dear TechRepublic Community,
I accidentally formatted my drive, so I tried to recover the files with O&O’s DiskRecovery 9.
It all worked well and I was able to restore the files.
Unfortunately most files won’t be opened properly by the associated programms.
In most cases the file won’t be opened at all, but e.g. if I try to play the music file “01 – Johann Sebastian Bach – Allegro.opus” with VLC Media Player it shows me a two-second video clip and stops playing afterwards.
Mp3-Music-Files are the only files working properly.
As the file path of the restored files is “O&O FormatRecovery\NTFS – Offset# 1,00 MB – 1,36 TB\…” I have come to wonder, whether the program cut the last MegaByte of each file and put it to the start of the next file. That would explain the video-clip at the beginning of the music file.
If that is the case, is there any convenient way to revert this?
Here is the Data recovery report – created by O&O DiskRecovery:

I am grateful for any help!
