Finding The Right BIOS Flash

by frstdone . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

I’ve been scouring the internet trying to find the right software to flash my BIOS with. It’s been a bit confusing and very aggrevating. I have a Micron PII 450 that I got towards the end of 1998. Now for the hard part. I know the BIOS software is from Award, version 2.2, but what I don’t really know is what BIOS flash to get. On the motherboard it says it’s a DR737. Micron’s web site tells me it’s a Presto motherboard. I also think it might be made by BCM or GVC. I really don’t know. The number that appears on the bottom of the monitor when the system is booting is:

10/08/1998-i440BX-W977TF-2A69KB3FC-00.

I really want to get this update since I’ve tweaked my system as much as I know how by tinkering in the registry, msdos.sys, autoexec.bat, and config.sys files. I feel like I need this to be have done as complete a job as possible without overclocking (can’t afford the risk).

I’ll be checking back frequently for an answer and happily award my points once I get an answer that works.
