Firewall

I’m looking for an excellent firewall. Of course like everybody else I would like it to be free. But would like suggestions on a really good one that will keep my computer secure, which after all is a little more important than the “free” part. It is on much of the time, and I am on a fast internet connection. So I would like something reliable. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time.
