Fixing VPN?

I used the build in VPN option in XP to connect to a computer and access the drives. After removing some corrupted software, like always, Windows goes flaky. I can still connect to the computer with VPN, but I am unable to access the networked drives now. I can access the drives from another PC with VPN, so I know it is something with the VPN on the busted one.

Know what I mean?

Any way to fix that?
