floppy drive

I built a new pc. motherboard is elite k7s5a. everything is working except the floppy drive. I can see the drive controller in device manager, but no floppy drive. I checked the cmos and saw the floppy drive. in my computer I see the A: drive but when I click on it, it says that A: drive is not accessible. I changed the cable, changed floppy drives. Why can’t I use the floppy drive?
