Folder permission

by eminent87 . Updated 22 years, 12 months ago

Hi,

Can someone show me how to set permission so that everyone can read, write, edit and rename a file or folder on the network file server? We have a Windows 2000 network and it’s driving me crazy because everyone keeps moving folders around by accident. Then they come to me and say folders are missing when it had just been moved by someone. Everyone has Read, Write, List Folder Contents, Read and Execute and Modify permissions. I don’t like this setup but they needs to be able to change, edit and rename the files and folder in that directory. Is there a way to prevent them from moving the folders around while letting them keep their current permissions? And also, how can I find who actually moved those folder around? Thanks for your help.
