Forest to Forest trusts

I am looking for documentation and how-to’s on Windows 2000 forest to Win2K forest trusts.
I have 2 Windows 2000 forest that are connected by a VPN. Yours can access resources with IP address, but have to type in password for the forest the connect. How do I trust the 2.
