Forwarding to other SMTP server from Exchange 2003

We are trying to pass emails coming into our exchange server 2003 on to a SQL server runing SMTP. we have set the SQL SMTP server to listen for a users addess but we keep getting delivery failures.

Please can any one help I have read the MS atical 319759 but dont think this is the way to do this, showly their must be a more simple way.

Any help woulb be greatfully received
