FPS drops after Windows and BIOS update

by morrii . Updated 6 years, 3 months ago

Hello,

Yesterday I wanted to overclock my CPU, the guy who helped me told me to update my BIOS to unlock features that I may not have with the old BIOS version. When updating the BIOS I decided to not overclock my CPU because I did not have all the features I needed for overclocking. A couple hours later I had a Windows update wich auto updated. After the 2 updates ( BIOS & Windows ) I wanted to play Fortnite. In the lobby of my first game I noticed a lot of FPS drops. I have my FPS capped at 144 but every 10 seconds it drops to 60-90 FPS. Now I don’t know what caused this issue. I don’t know what BIOS version I had before I updated it and I don’t know if reverting the Windows update helps. Does anyone know how I fix the FPS drops?

Specs:
GTX 1070ti
Ryzen 5 2600
Asus Prime B350 Plus
Corsair 16 GB RAM

Kind regards,
Morris
