Freeze

I have (HP Pavilion 7865) windows ME.
My pc gets stuck alot!
After i bought my pc and it was too late, i heard news that windows ME, has lots of problems like
1. freezing up
2. getting poped off the internet.
3. just an all around bad product.
is there anything that can be done to correct this?
and if not, can i trade my pc in for one that runs RIGHT?
