From Wireless PC a Cabled switch?

I hope somebody can help me with my problem.

I have wireless router (2wire) and about 30 feet away in another room my desktop pc has a linksys usb wireless adapter, everything works fine.

Can i connect an 8 port switch (netgear) to my desktop pc and from that switch connect via ethernet cable other desktops in the same room??

Dont want to use a 30 feet cable through the house (and my wife wont like it)
