FTP – Active or Passive

Hi,

I recently changed my web hosting servers and have a FTP that supports ascii(active) connections for listing files and transfers… of late been having lots of issues with corrupt zip files and also been experiencing a broken internet connection.

Would the reason for corrupt zip files be the configuration of the FTP server or my broken internet connection? any help would be appreciated . Thanks.
