ftp from winxp to Sun system

I tried to send some zip files using FTP from my WinXP to Sun Solaris OS but after the Sun Solaris received the zip files it just produce error messages and unable to unzip the file.I tried to use the CD thru the cdrom to make a direct transfer of those files and it was able to unzip and run the program succesfully.Is there any specified command need to put in on the FTP inorder to make it run on Sun Solaris.
