future anti-virus, anbti-spyware for W98

Can someone comment on whether or not there will be any any-spyware and anti-virus programs, especially free ones, that will update themselves and work with Windows 98 in the future. I know AVG will cease doing so soon. This is an important question for people who cannot afford to ride the planned-obsolescence roller coaster of the latest products — you know, the people that the industry, with such cocern, refers to as being on the other side of the digital divide. Will there be any help for us? Or will we be kicked aside?
