Games for Windows 3.5 Update Mar 13 2012 Won’t Install (error 80070643)

Today (March 13, 2012), I saw there were 8 updates available on Windows Update. Everyone of them installed except for one: “Update for Games for Windows Software 3.5”. I restarted the computer as it told me to do and attempted to reinstall the failed update when I logged back on. It has failed every time.

Everything I’ve been able to find about error 80070643 has not worked.

I’ve never had any issues installing Windows Updates until now. What’s going on with this?
