Gateway Disappears on DHCP Scope

We are having a problem on one of our subnets that is intermittent. Once every few months the DHCP gateway entry just disappears on this one subnet scope. We find out about it when someone complains about their inability to logon or to surf the Internet. It happens at different times of the day. We are running Server 2003 SP 1. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
