I am setting up a home network. First router (Linksys BEFSR41) is running as the gateway and my DHCP server and everything is ok. My 2 PC’s wired to it are ok.
I have a wireless router (Linksys WRT54GS)in another part of the house (for reception purposes) to another PC upstairs. It is connected to the Uplink port in the wired router, and I can access its setup menu from a PC connected to the wired router.
It is set to Router mode (rather than gateway) and I have DHCP off.
ID’s are as follows:
Wired – 192.168.1.1
Wireless – 192.168.1.2
My problem is that I cannot access the Internet from the PC connected wireless. I show “very good” signal strength. When I do IPCONFIG it does not show a Gateway address.
Any suggestions on what I have done wrong?
