Geek in training (how many of these did you have??)

Scary think is that in the period between high school and starting grad school (~1978-1986?) I had a TRS-80 Model I and Model III (Trash-80!), a TI-99/4A, Commodore 64, and IBM PC, and a Tandy 1000.

In 1974 I was in a special “gifted” program in middle school where we learned programming and computer skills by dialing in to a mainframe and using those old noisy teletypes. Don’t remember what computer it was, but I definitely remember when we got a PDP-11 and loading the OS with paper tape.

Now we’re back to square one with cloud computing and “dialing in” to time shared systems 🙂
