Giant Dialog Fonts in XP

Various dialog boxes display unusually large san serif fonts, forcing the dialog box to display off screen. Problem appears in printer, scanner and disk writing dialog boxes, as well as some messages that are generated by virus or spy checking software. Changing the standard Windows font, theme or display settings does not effect the error, but does scale the problem down at extremely high resolution displays. Got a solution?
